When we got in the car to prepare to go to church, a new CD started playing, and it was one of my favorite Christian artists, Laura Story! My sweet hubby had burned me her new CD for my birthday! I've loved listening to it all week.
So last Sunday, I had quite the delightful day! We had a mini- orchestra in church, so the music was especially gorgeous! We had a delicious brunch at home, and put the little girls to bed. Our qualified "tween" Rebekah is 12 now, so she agreed to watch the kids while we scooted off for a date... In our town there was a performance of the Messiah ON Easter afternoon, so we went and listened- it was overwhelming and beautiful!! We really enjoyed it, especially getting to sing the "Hallelujah Chorus" with the orchestra and choir and soloists! The end was wonderful too, with the "Worthy is the Lamb" hymn at the end. WOW! If you've never been, I encourage you to try to attend next year!
That evening, we ate a casual dinner, since we had gone out to Rib City the evening before with the kids. They even gave me a free piece of chocolate pie! And Bethany's meal was free since she is under 4 years old. After watching my favorite TV show, Extreme Makeover Home Edition, my sweet hubby made me my favorite dessert that evening, which was Strawberry Shortcake- with angel food cake, sliced strawberries, dark chocolate syrup and whipped cream- YUM!!
In the morning when I woke up and came downstairs after my shower, there were gifts and cards on the table:

I got to talk to my parents and some siblings too, and it was just an overall lovely day! God is so good!
Sounds like a perfect day! Happy belated birthday! :)
