This year was bitter sweet since my friend Beth, who has been working alongside my hubby and I in VBS for the past 7 years, is moving! We are sad to lose their wonderful family in our church. They are very involved, along with their kids! But we know God has bigger and better things in store for them! While we are sad to lose them here, we are praying for their next adventure!
The theme this year was "Galactic Starveyors," which was a clubhouse, telescope star viewing theme. So there was a makeshift clubhouse on stage, several telescopes, and lots of stars and planets to decorate! The kids talked all about relationship-- with God's creating people, the broken relationship of sin, how God restored that relationship with Jesus' death and resurrection, and how we can live in a relationship with him each day of our lives. The music was great too, the kids loved "Sin Messed Everything Up", and "Over the Moon." It gave me goosebumps to hear them singing all together, 200 children, it really is overwhelming! They really praised God with their hearts and voices!
My daughter and my friend Beth's daughter had a great time in class together! Buddies!<3 p=""> The astronaut pictures that I took of my own kids (along with the 200 others)... they're floating in space! The used this picture in a craft with salt on glue to create a space picture!

My son was a helper this year in games, and he also played drums in the opening and closing gathering times. He did a great job!Thank you to those who prayed for us and supported our work. We enjoyed the time with all of the kids, and we slept well every night, and took some naps too! It was lots of fun leading these Galactic Starveyors!
This was our theme verse:
Colossians 1:15-16
The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.
Psalm 8:3-4
When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?

Jill, thank you for a kind comment about VBS decorations. I am praying for Beth and you. It is so hard to say goodbye to a friend.
