We had family and friends over after church, and we had made banana bread, egg & sausage casserole, coffee cake and lemon cupcakes the night before. Joshua's sister and mom brought donuts, which we delicious! We also had fruit and yogurt to dip it in. We had several different kinds of coffee made (Italian press, French press and drip coffee), as well as juice. We offered tea but I don't think anyone had any tea.
I enjoyed that 6 or 7 of Rebekah's college friends came to join us. I liked hearing them talk and laugh together. We had a bunch of church friends here too, besides family. I enjoy seeing the different groups of people mix and mingle together. I enjoy seeing my daughter in various small groups chatting with them. I enjoyed my other kids conversing with friends of all ages.
(There is an ice cream man driving by outside, and its not even warm yet! But I digress...)
She loved having different friends and grandparents here to celebrate her birthday. She even got a few gifts that she liked too! (How can it be 20 years since we first became parents?!)
She is a wonderful, lovely, talented, smart, kind, sweet girl and we are so thankful that God brought her into our lives 20 years ago-- what a gift and a treasure!
Have you had any birthdays in your family recently? What do you do to celebrate?
Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”
Acts 2:38
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
James 1:17
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
