TV room renovation

We have been talking about painting our living/ TV room for several years. At the end of June this year, we finally tackled it. We finished the painting in about 8 hours on one Saturday! We chose the same paint color that we had used when we painted our front family room a few years ago. Joshua began painting with that leftover paint, and I got more paint and materials from Lowe's.
One of our problem areas was this wall ding that was always covered up by a couch. My brother told us what supplies to buy to repair it. (He is a painter in Denver.) We spackled it with several layers first, which took a while to dry. We are very happy with the result, you can't even tell!
The result is amazingly different!

A fresh coat of paint can make a big difference!

I bought fabric and recovered 4 pillows and two bolsters...even with zippers! It was a good challenge and turned out great!
We have been needing a new couch too. We shopped a bit in May and took a while to decide. We wanted to replace our futon, and we had a gray couch that had broken springs too. We decided we could replace both with one bigger couch. It has been nice to have lots of seats and footrests. Mallory and Caleb have even slept on it, and I've napped on it. It's a little firm, but comfy.

These are pictures of our new couch... it has a pull-out bed and an ottoman which move. We are loving it so far! The headrests go up and down too.
There is storage under the chaise longue and the ottoman. It's really nice to be able to store our blankets out of the way!

It has been a lovely transformation! Of course, we are still thinking of painting our upstairs bathroom, the stairs/ upstairs hallway, and the outside of the house too. We'll see if we get more painting done this summer!

Isaiah 43:19
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

Mark 2:21
“No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment. Otherwise, the new piece will pull away from the old, making the tear worse.

Revelation 21:5
He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
