Last weekend, we took some time away from home and journeyed over the mountains to the "big city." (with a little trepidation about traveling, because of COVID.) Even though it was cloudy and a little chillier than we expected for mid-July, the mountains and the scenic route were still beautiful. It was so nice to get away from home for four days.
We stayed with my sister and her family. We enjoyed chatting with them, sleeping in, eating protein pancakes, and getting to play in their new backyard pool. My girls enjoyed cooling off, and it was cool! My brother-in-law actually rigged up his own heater for it since it is usually cold.
I love her face!😁
Then on Friday, just for fun, my sister-in-law did some spontaneous hair coloring! She and her daughters have been doing that during quarantine and having fun with it. It washes out in 40 washes. Some of them have a peek-a-boo (in the back, underneath) or just a few on top. One of my nieces even has her ends bleached (a whole other process) and then her ends are purple. We did not have time to bleach, but we did do a little fun color.

Letting it set...
Bethany's turn...
A little green in there!
Hers came out the lightest...
...and I got some wild hair too... purple!💟👀There are a few purple strands on each side... just four bunches! It's fun!
After dinner with two of my siblings (and my niece in a swimsuit!)
At my nephew's backyard graduation party... the actual graduation hasn't happened yet. But he will be coming to college here in a few weeks, so we will see him again soon! He is in the beanie hat.
It's always fun to see old friends and their kids!
Chatting with others...
So thankful for the shade since it was 95* outside!
We had to get some family photos! One with masks, because 2020 is like this! It was great to be together!
After the party and dinner, he opened a bunch of cards and a few gifts. We gave him a "dorm survival kit" in a backpack laundry bag. He liked it a lot!
Before we left, Caleb held my sister's dog, she was sitting so cute.
What have you been up to this summer? Have you attended any graduation parties? We sure love seeing our family!
1 Corinthians 4:17
For this reason, I have sent to you Timothy, my son whom I love, who is faithful in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which agrees with what I teach everywhere in every church.
1 Corinthians 16:10
When Timothy comes, see to it that he has nothing to fear while he is with you, for he is carrying on the work of the Lord, just as I am.
Philippians 2:22
But you know that Timothy has proved himself because as a son with his father he has served with me in the work of the gospel.
