This is a big project that we have needed to get done on our home for several years. What a better time to do it than when we are home a lot more in 2020? We decided to paint our house this year, using the money from our tax return for it. It took a while to get the tax return back, but when we did, we got busy! Actually, a HUGE majority of the work and credit goes to my husband. I ran to Lowe's, painted trim, and held the ladder, but that was about it. We had fun picking out colors for it, and we are really pleased with the way that it turned out!
Get ready for a picture overload!
This is the before picture...
This was the day when we were scraping old paint off of the posts in the front of the house after we power-washed it...
After that, my hubby started painting the doors. He took off the front and side doors and painted them in one weekend.

Close-up of the doors in the garage...
Since it is fly and "bug" season, we had to tape off the front door, which worked until it got windy! Thankfully it was only for a few hours!
The doors rehung... the look SO nice!
But the side-lights were not painted yet...
Side garage door, trim primed but not painted yet...
Inside got painted too!
The French "back" doors to our deck got a pretty paint job too!
THen my hubby painted the sidelights next to the front door when he painted the downstairs in the front. It looked nice, but we thought maybe they would be green, so that's what we did! It looks great!
I shined the nameplate and the kick plate on the bottom with baking soda.
I will have to make another post for this blog with more of the pictures... it has been quite a process. I am so happy that it is finally completed. It took my hubby a lot of free time on his weekends and days off. It will be nice for him to have free time for hikes and other hobbies again!
Have you done anything new and different to your house this year?
Psalm 27:4One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.Psalm 84:10Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked. Proverbs 24: 3-4By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established;through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.
