Christmas decorating!

Have you decorated your house for Christmas yet? We decorated our home this past Friday & Saturday, and the kids had tons of fun! I love opening the boxes and remembering where so many of the decorations come from... "Oh yeah! Rebekah made this in kindergarten..." Or "Mallory unwrapped this pretend present when she was 2, and was disappointed it was an empty matchbox!" Or..."Caleb loved this ornament when he was 2!" We never used to decorate our home so early in the year, until we were expecting Bethany. Her birthday is December 7, so we can't decorate our tree on the same weekend as her birthday party! So, it got pushed back a week to Thanksgiving weekend!

Since we are in our new home, we had the dilemma and fun of finding new places to put everything! Plus our 9 1/2 foot tree would not fit- no high ceilings here! So we bought a 7 foot tree (pre-lit of course!) We decided a few years ago that we would buy an artificial tree in an effort to save money, by not buying a real tree from a tree lot each year. But then we bought another tree this year! Oh well...

Enjoy the pics- it was lots of fun!

Mallory helps Daddy choose CD's to listen to...

Rebekah helps Dad put on the cranberry garland.

Cute elves wait patiently...

Now the ribbon...
We decked the halls too!

Attacking the tree with ornaments!

So pretty- eclectic ornaments...

The final touch- the star on top!
The whole house looks festive!

All lit up in the evening...

Mallory is looking for the pickle, and not finding it...
We are looking forward to having our decorations up all month! It is a nice change and makes the house so festive! Now to decorate the outside, maybe? Need extension cords...

  2. Gets me excited! ... we're decorating tonight and all the Christmas bins are sitting in the family room. Can't wait to open them up and get started, but I guess I'll have to wait for the rest of the family :)
