Kindergarten-D week

We had a fun week last week in homeschool kindergarten talking about D things-- dogs, days, dice, dominoes, drinking, dentists and dinosaurs!

Before our week began, on Sunday, we had donuts! A yummy way to start the week, with a delicious treat!
When we discussed dogs, we discussed the big red dog, Clifford! We decorated a red solo cup to look like a dog's nose! There are red ears on the side, but they're hard to see... there are also eyes on the edge, so that's why Bethany is closing her own.
Later in the week, we talked about dinosaurs, dino types and Bethany made a dino den with blocks!
On Friday, we took a FIELD TRIP to the dinosaur museum in our town! We had a few friends come with us. While we waited for them, the kids rode a dino in the lobby... :-D

In the museum, the kids stomped with dino "feet" in the sand box...
Dug up (plastic) dinosaurs and dino bones in the digging pit...

Made a dam in the water with rocks, played with plastic dinos again...
They stood on the earthquake simulator, and once they laid down on it...
And they stood inside the brachiosaurus heart, which also had other size heart punch-outs on the sides. Caleb was amazed at the small size of the hummingbird heart (about the size of a pin-head.)
We had a great time with our friends, and went out for lunch afterward at a nearby local restaurant (NOT fast food!). It was a great day and a great week!

Genesis 1:25
God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

Genesis 8:19
All the animals and all the creatures that move along the ground and all the birds—everything that moves on land—came out of the ark, one kind after another.

Job 40:15
“Look at Behemoth, which I made along with you and which feeds on grass like an ox.
