School year favorites 2016

This is a tradition that I have done the past several years, and I enjoy seeing how the kids' tastes and preferences change from year to year. They are growing up! Our school year is going well so far!

This is supposed to say "Liv and Maddie"... oops!

Sorry some of the writing turned out kinda small, hope you can still read it!

Enjoy the pictures!
Do you have any yearly traditions like this that you do with your own children?

Luke 2:52
"And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and men."

Exodus 2:10
When the child grew older, she took him to Pharaoh’s daughter and he became her son. She named him Moses, saying, “I drew him out of the water.”

2 Chronicles 27:6
Jotham grew powerful because he walked steadfastly before the Lord his God.

Family Fourth of July 2016

We had an enjoyable time visiting family for Independence day again this year. We loved painting our nails, attending the parade, visiting with friends for lunch, playing in the park, eating delicious meals, watching fireworks in the park and in the backyard!
My daughter and I painted our toenails...

Our friends' band in the parade...
 Our crew watching the parade...
Sleeping in the car on the way home...
Kids being tickled on auntie's lap...
Our traditional porch photos, nice and silly...
 Love our family together time!

Psalm 119:44-46
I will always obey your law,
for ever and ever.
I will walk about in freedom,
for I have sought out your precepts.
I will speak of your statutes before kings
and will not be put to shame.

Romans 8:21
...that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.

2 Corinthians 3:17
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

Denver trip

A few weeks ago, we took a summer vacation to visit family in Denver and see some sights. We were not tourists too much, but just enjoyed time with family too. The 5-6 days went too quickly. We had a great time! Enjoy the pictures of our trip...
The kids hanging out at the park with cousins...

While we were there, our youngest daughter lost another top tooth! Love her picket fence grin!
My sister-in-law set up "the string game" where she strings different colors of yarn around the house, attaches it to things, and then the kids have to climb around to unwind it! They love it!

We went to Elitch Gardens, which is an amusement park in Denver. We rode the carousel...
Our youngest daughter liked the kiddie rides...
We rode on the swings that went up and down!
So many spinning rides, I couldn't handle them all!
 On the teacups...
We loved the log ride where we got wet, we rode on that one three times! It felt so cooling on the hot, summer day!
 Happy 20th anniversary to us!
Our family of posers in front of the sign.. the kids said it was a "best day"...
We went out to dinner with my in-laws at the Melting Pot. So yummy!
 Our dessert dipping plate...
My oldest daughter and I got our hair cut at a curly girl salon!
Fun to see my sister and her kids several times too!
Here's all the cousins together one last time before we drove home again!

Luke 2:41-50

Every year Jesus’ parents went to Jerusalem for the Festival of the Passover. When he was twelve years old, they went up to the festival, according to the custom.  After the festival was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it.  Thinking he was in their company, they traveled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends.  When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him.  After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers. When his parents saw him, they were astonished. His mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you.”
“Why were you searching for me?” he asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?” But they did not understand what he was saying to them.
