Joshua's 50th birthday!

This year, since my hubby was turning the big 5-0, we decided to have a birthday party! I chose an evening, we sent out e-vites and had a very fun "Roast and Toast" for him! Some friends of ours had had a "Roast and Toast" for a 40th birthday, and I thought it would be fun. It was mostly toasting to our great friend, Dad, husband, brother, etc., though!

When we looked for decorations, everything was gold-themed, so we went with it! I bought him large number balloons, which I've never done before, but they were neat. (Not easy to blow up, but they looked cool!) The family pitched in for the party. We had lots of snacks and munchies, as well as cake and cookies. I forgot to get out the ice cream!

We posed for some family photos, with whoever was there. We enjoyed seeing new and old friends, chatting a lot, telling old stories, and laughing. I made a slideshow of some of Joshua's old photos, and we got some giggles from that. Oh, that old skinny leather tie! 😂

It was a great night to celebrate my favorite guy! I'm glad lots of people came and celebrated with us!

Some of the party decorations...
Nana (Joshua's mom) was surrounded by kids while decorating the cake...
Family on Joshua's side that was there...
A little bit squished together...
a silly one...
The "kids" with their Dad...
The "kids" with their Mom...
Dear, long-time friends...
Chatting and hanging out...
As the party went on, it started getting darker! My dad and mom jokingly gave Joshua a walker and a cane since he is getting "so old"...
Roasting but mostly toasting...
On his actual birthday in front of the decorations, he makes 50 look good!
He was surprised by the new game that we bought him. I love getting to honestly surprise him with something he will love!

He really enjoyed the party, which made all of the planning, cleaning, and stress worth it! We sure love him and thank God for his life!

What kind of adult birthday parties have you done? I'd enjoy hearing about it!
