We had another wonderful class this week of American Girls! We discussed the book,
Kirsten Saves the Day!, which is book 5 in the series. We talked about bees and honey, we should have had honey on something... Oh well!

The sample potholder that I made... |
For craft, we made Quilted Potholders. One of the amazing moms volunteered to make
all 21 potholders! I enjoy sewing, but it was
SO nice to not need to stress over that big project! The potholders were blank in the middle, so the girls sewed a design in the middle of the potholder, and a ribbon on the side. One of the girls remarked, "We sure do a lot of sewing in Kirsten..." Yep, true, it's a good thing to learn, though.

Not sure why the girl on the right looks worried... Hmm... |
|
This gal made a block shape on her potholder! |

Sisters diligently hand-sewing... |
|
Stitching, eating soup, stitching... |
|
This cute little brother was "helping" his big sister... |
|
All done, a lovely heart on the potholder and in the girl! :-D |
|
More stitching... was harder for the younger girls... |
|
Almost done! Braiding her rug on the left... |
We had potato soup for snack. Most of the girls liked it a lot! The recipe can be found
here.
We worked on our braided rugs again! We will be sewing them together next week in class. I can hardly believe the semester is almost over!
