Proverbs for Parenting

We have been reading the Proverbs during homeschool each morning, and I am amazed how relevant that they are to our lives daily. I was reminded recently of these proverbs for parenting, which I have posted on my fridge. A friend of mine gave me this list years ago and I have really liked it. I agree with God's word and its teachings! There is so much wisdom found in the Bible. It is always a source of guidance for me. I hope it is for you too!

PROVERBS FOR PARENTING

Teach your children My words and commands, to understand what is right and just, and knowledge and under-standing will guard you. Prov. 2:1-11
Do not despise the Lord’s discipline, for the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father does with the son in whom he delights.  Prov 3:11, 12
Hear your parent’s instructions, do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you. Do not swerve to the right or the left, but turn your feet from evil. Prov 4:1-27
He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is careful to discipline him, while there is still hope. Prov 13:24, 19:18
The righteous man leads a blameless life; blessed are his children after him. Prov 20:7
A child is known by his actions, by whether his conduct is pure and right. Prov 20:11
Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Prov 22:6
Foolishness is bound up in a child’s heart, but the rod of discipline will remove it far from him. Prov 22:15
Pay attention and listen to the words of the wise, and apply them to your heart. Put your trust in the LORD, teach true and reliable words, and give sound answers to those who ask you. Prov 22:17-21
The rod of correction imparts wisdom, but a child left to himself disgraces his mother. Prov 29:15
Discipline your son, and he will bring you peace; he will bring delight to your soul. Prov 29:17
