American Girl class: Kit week 2

This week in our American Girl class, we discussed book two in the series, Kit Learns a Lesson. We also discussed Thanksgiving and what that may have looked like during the Depression era. For our craft, I printed a cornucopia found here. I gave each of the girls one sheet or orange or brown construction paper. They cut out the cornucopia, colored it brown, and glued it onto the construction paper. Then I gave the girls a variety of magazines to cut out food to glue onto the cornucopia. It was a challenge because there was so many other fun things that they wanted to cut out! We discussed what a cornucopia was, and I had a colored picture for them to see.

For snack, we had Oatmeal with canned sliced peach. One of the moms brought home canned peaches, they looked yummy! Most of the girls really liked the peach. :-D

We also worked on our geography notebooks again, and this time we colored pages for Ohio, since that is where Kit lived. The girls did a great job, as usual coloring in the flags and flowers! You can find the pages here and here.

The 2:00 class works on their craft:

My daughter is always bummed that she is not on my blog post about class, so here she is! ;-D

It was another great class day, and it went by so quickly! I am looking forward to talking next week about Kit book three, and CHRISTMAS!
