Homemade Lemonade Simple Syrup

Homemade Lemonade Simple Syrup
This is a recipe that my hubby found and made last summer, and I made it again this week... YUM! So refreshing on a hot summer day! You can find the Snapguide original recipe here.

Peel two lemons, and cut peels into straws (or use a lemon zester as I did). Take equal parts sugar and water to make your syrup (I did 1 cup of each). Add the sugar to a saucepan, then the water and stir.. Turn the burner on medium heat, warm till sugar is dissolved and you have a simple syrup. Stir through until mostly clear. Next add your “shoe string” lemon peel and boil it on low for about five minutes.

Cut your lemon in half. Each cup of lemonade will have half a squeezed lemon in it. Take three tablespoons of your syrup and add it to your cup. Add some ice. Add the juice of your half lemon, squeezing with a citrus squeezer. Fill the rest of cup with water and enjoy.

Store the syrup in bottle or jar (in the refrigerator) so you can enjoy it all week. (optional: add a shot of vodka for alcoholic drink!)
ENJOY!

Let me know if you try this recipe, I'd love to hear your review!
