Denver trip memories-2014- Day 6

On the last day of our trip, we took the "long way" home. We went the scenic route! We drove through Rocky Mountain National Park, which is just gorgeous! It made for a long day, but we loved the views of the mountains. If you've never been there, it was well worth the trip!
This is one of the more famous mountains in the park, called Longs Peak.
While driving up Trail Ridge Road, we thought this was a cool view of the road ahead of us. We loved being up so high, above the "tree line" in the alpine tundra. Even though the sky was cloudy, the views were awesome!
I'm not sure of the name of this lake, but the kids and Joshua put their feet in the COLD water. Can you see them on the right edge of the lake?
Another view of the lake. We just loved the setting! So peaceful...
On the way down towards Granby, I just loved the sun on these mountains...
WOW! Thank you Lord for the beauty of the earth You have made!
"I lift my eyes to the hills, where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of Heaven and earth!" (Psalm 121:1-2)

1 Kings 19:10-13
The Lord Appears to Elijah

And the word of the Lord came to him: “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

He replied, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, torn down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too.”

The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.”

Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lordwas not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave.

Psalm 90:2
Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
