Kindergarten: C week

We had a fun week discussing C things in homeschool kindergarten this week! We did several lessons around the book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin Jr. and John Archumbault. We made a coconut tree on the refrigerator, and put our magnetic letters on it. Our very own alphabet tree!
We also bought our own coconut  to try... Daddy helped us open it. It was more sour than usual, we think it was a little moldy! Hence the look on my hubby's face... This was after drinking the juice.

Daddy got it open to see the inside...

We also had fun discussing our home state of Colorado, cats, and colors. We counted, sorted colors, did coin rubbings and more. One of my favorite projects was making Pete the Cat with shapes. Mallory made one too. They turned out pretty cute!

The top project is a circle collage. She wanted to make concentric circles even! Bethany toted around our Pete the Cat stuffed animal most of the week!  We love the Pete the Cat books-- we have three!

We also talked about Creation...

Genesis 1:24-26
And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so. God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

Job 40:20
The hills bring it their produce, and all the wild animals play nearby.

Psalm 36:6

Your righteousness is like the highest mountains, your justice like the great deep. You, Lord, preserve both people and animals.
