Kindergarten: I week

Last week was I week in homeschool kindergarten. Even though it was cut short by Bethany's sickness, we still had a fun week. We talked about lots of I things including ice, icebergs, icicles, ice cream, igloos, Inuits, italics, islands, ink, iron, insects, inches and more. We didn't get the chance to find the I states on the map, igniting a fire, igneous rock, incense and instruments. Hopefully next week will be back to normal!
My daughter was putting the magnetic letters in order, and saying "S." We have been working on this in her language lately. She is getting better and has known the letters for a while, but it is still a good challenge for her.
She made an "igloo" with sugar cubes and the help of big sis.
Making ice cream! A delicious treat in homeschool! We got an ice cream maker from my sister-in-law from their yard sale. We have not used it much, but after this week, we've wondered why. It was SOOO yummy!
 Measuring the cream...
Adding the ice, letting it turn and turn and turn... waiting is the hard part!

Looking forward to making JELLO next week!

Job 6:15-17

But my brothers are as undependable as intermittent streams,
as the streams that overflow
when darkened by thawing ice
and swollen with melting snow,
but that stop flowing in the dry season,
and in the heat vanish from their channels.

Job 37:10
The breath of God produces ice, and the broad waters become frozen.

Job 38:28-30
Does the rain have a father?
Who fathers the drops of dew?
From whose womb comes the ice?
Who gives birth to the frost from the heavens
when the waters become hard as stone,
when the surface of the deep is frozen?
