Box day 2015!

For homeschoolers, we don't have a "registration day" or "Meet your Teacher" night. One of the exciting days for us in preparation of the new school year is "Box Day." It is the day when our new curriculum that we ordered comes by UPS. We love to see the new books we will be reading, topics we will study and learn about, peruse the read-aloud books, look at the science hands-on pieces for experiments. It fills us with anticipation for the homeschool year to come!
The box of new items for Caleb and Mallory from My Father's World (1850 to Modern Times).
Rebekah was looking forward to opening her box. She likes to look at the new books as much as I do!
She peruses her history books and Bible/ Christian character books... she will also study Government/ Civics this year. I still need to order her math...
She only has ONE more box day for next year... she is beginning her junior year of high school! (How did she get to be so old?!)

Isaiah 61:1-3
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor.
