We Remember/ Memorial Day 2017

Love this new song by my favorite, Steven Curtis Chapman called, "We Remember." Please listen to the song on YouTube here.

Here are the lyrics for this fitting song, on Memorial Day...

"We Remember"

This is for the ones who heard the fight for freedom calling
For the ones who answered, "I'll do what I can"
For the ones who ran to battle
Who believed that freedom mattered
Oh this is for you

And this is for the ones whose orders took them to the front lines
For the ones who fell and never made it home
For the ones who came back broken
With memories too hard to be spoken
Oh this is for you

We remember
We remember
We are thankful
We are grateful
We know freedom isn't free
We remember
We remember
The gift you gave
The price you paid
Is not in vain
And it will never be forgotten
'Cause we remember

And this is for the ones whose war is wondering and waiting
For the moms and dads and families back at home
Those with pictures by their beds
Who had to learn to live again
Oh this is for you

We remember
We remember
We are thankful
We are grateful
We know freedom isn't free
We remember
We remember
The gift you gave
The price you paid
Is not in vain
And it will never be forgotten
We remember

We remember
Every time we chase our dreams
Or pray out loud
Speak our minds
And even when we disagree
Oh we remember
And though sometimes we've lost our way
We're still the land of the free and the home of the brave

And we remember
We remember
And we are thankful
We are grateful
We know freedom isn't free
We remember
We remember
The gift you gave
The price you paid
Is not in vain
And it will never be forgotten

John 15:13
Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

Psalm 119:45
I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts.

Galatians 5:1
[ Freedom in Christ ] It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

2 Corinthians 3:17
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

Rebekah's high school graduation!?!

Our daughter Rebekah graduated from high school last week!?! It was lots of fun to celebrate all of her hard work in high school and accomplishments. She took several college classes this year, and scored A's in all of them! What a smartie pants!

She had two graduations. One was with our public "umbrella" school that we use for funding and support. The 2nd was a more intimate, Christian ceremony with other Christian homeschoolers from our area. The 2nd ceremony was more meaningful, included a Bible verse in the video and the parents spoke a 30 second message (each) to the graduate. When I read my message aloud after I wrote it, I cried the first time! I am happy to say that I did not cry when I spoke for the recording. It was quite an emotional few weeks for me!

We're so proud of and thankful for this girl, and happy she'll be living at home again next fall!
Enjoy the pictures!
 All ready before ceremony #1...

My bestie came to the 1st ceremony with her boys, and the younger one wore her cap!
Her display on the table... photo and music, of course!
All ready for ceremony #2 on Saturday, with a sweet friend...
The graduates on stage... they did it! I loved that the parents each gave their child the diploma!
The party after the ceremony... friends eating together! My nephew and bestie's boy were eating with the teenagers! ;-D
All crowded around a small screen...
All of the cousins on Joshua's side of the family...

Rebekah with auntie, uncle and cousins...
 Another family photo op!
 With Auntie...
 With Nana...
 With Grandpa...
With Nana and her sister, Auntie Nana... it's a Nana sandwich!
Adults on Joshua's side of the family...
 My side of the family...
Adults on my side of the family...
The curly girls! My mom, sister, daughter and me!
My nephew wore her cap too!
On Sunday afternoon, she had a senior voice recital, where she sang 9 songs, had an accompanist, and a friend played 2 pieces during her breaks!
 Singing...
She did just beautifully! So thankful for her love of music and God-given talent!

Her life verse...

Zephaniah 3:17
The Lord your God is with you,
the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you;
in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
but will rejoice over you with singing.”

Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Mother's day 2017

We had a fun weekend celebrating Mother's Day again this year. I felt spoiled by not needing to cook all day, getting breakfast in bed, some gorgeous flowers, a walk and a nap!

Here are some photo highlights...
Before the mother daughter luncheon on Saturday...
They had a lot of cupcakes there, and Mallory loved her blue one...
We had a lovely soloist sing two songs...
My breakfast in bed made by my little girls...
 My gorgeous flower bouquet....
Mallory painted Grandma's fingernails for her...
Our traditional photos after church... love each one of them!
Me and my honey...
Squeezing and being silly "holding" my oldest girl...

 Holding my baby girl...
Making my son stand still and look nice for a picture...haha!
 My sweet middle daughter...
 All together now!
Got to spoil my momma this year, my hubby made delicious pizza and strawberry rhubarb crisp... so, so good! Pinterest gave me the idea for the sign... <3 p="">

I'm so thankful that I get to raise my four blessings that God has given me. They are all different people already, so fun, funny, neat kids! God is so good... all the time!

Psalm 113:9
He settles the childless woman in her home as a happy mother of children. Praise the Lord.

Proverbs 6:20
My son, keep your father’s command and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.

Isaiah 49:15
“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!

more favorite things...

I've recently discovered this lip color, and I just love it! My new favorite is Vivid Matte Liquid by Maybelline. I like both of the colors that I have. My daughter, Rebekah had one and I remarked about it every time that she wore it. I finally asked her what product it was, and she showed it to me. She got another color in her stocking, and I did too! I got the rose-colored one then, and I got the darker color for Rebekah's prom that we chaperoned. It is not as dark on my lips as it looks in the rectangular container, it is more berry colored. I can't find the color name on it anywhere. It is long-lasting too!

I recommend this lip color to you, let me know if you try it! I'd love to hear your review!

Joshua 1:8
Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

Psalm 34:1; 13
I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips....keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies.

Hebrews 13:15
Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.
