Valentine's day 2018

We had a different Valentine's party this year. In the past year at our church, we've had several homeschool families move or leave our church. When I began counting the group of kids, I realized that they are growing up too! I decided to have the party at my home this year, which is easier than at our church, which is much bigger and a place we needed to reserve in advance. We had four families come to the party (including mine). It was fun to let the kids play outside and upstairs while the moms talked. Mallory also showed off the chickens, of course. It was a fun time with lunch, sharing Valentines and playing a quick game! I didn't get too many pictures, but here are a few...

 Trading and opening Valentines...
The kids had a great time together with their friends!

On Valentine's evening, we ate a delicious, home-cooked lasagna, tried to watch a kid's Valentine movie, (couldn't see the whole thing) and then we watched the Olympics on TV. It was nice to have an evening at home together! (Rebekah and her boyfriend went out). I love my family and my sweet hubby! The necklace that I'm wearing below is from him!

What did you do for Valentine's Day this year? I'd love to hear about it!

1 John 4:7-8
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
