Apple Crisp recipe~ YUM!

So, I brought this to MOPS this week, and it was a big hit. I've made it several times this fall, it's one of our favorites. It is quite delicious as is, but often I will double the crisp part, or 1 1/2 times it, because that is even better! Enjoy- let me know if you try it! Thanks to Mom Nadel for this recipe!

Apple Crisp
2 lb sliced apples (fresh or frozen, OR other fruit such as blackberries, peaches or cherries)
1 cup sugar

Topping:
2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
2 eggs
2/3 cup butter, melted
2 Tbsp cinnamon-sugar

In greased 9 x 13" pan, combine fruit and sugar, set aside.

In a medium mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt and baking powder. Using a pastry cutter, cut in the eggs until crumbly. Sprinkle this mixture on top of fruit. Drizzle melted butter over topping. Sprinkle cinnamon-sugar over all.

Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until topping is golden brown. Serve warm with ice cream or heavy cream poured over the top.

(The crunchy topping is the secret to this dessert.)

It is not as healthy as my Mom's version, which has nuts & oatmeal. Joshua likes this one better! :-D
