Music Monday: "Send Your Rain"

I thought of posting a patriotic song this week, as there are a few that I like by Michael W. Smith and Geoff Moore. But with all of the fires in the state of Colorado this past week, or month (some of them), this song has been ringing throughout my head. It is my prayer for our state, and all the people of the nation!

I like the metaphor between our hearts and land needing the rain sent from heaven. Both are so true!

"Send Your Rain" Lyrics
by Passion Worship Band | from the album Passion: Live Worship From the 268 Generation

Send Your rain, Oh Lord
Send Your rain, Oh Lord
Send Your rain to Your people

Send Your rain, Oh Lord
Send Your rain, Oh Lord
Send Your rain
Bring Your kingdom

Soften our hearts
Pour out Your Spirit
Fill us anew
Let Your rain come

May Your kingdom come
And Your will be done
On the earth as it is in heaven
May Your kingdom come
And Your will be done
On the earth
Bring Your kingdom

Soften our hearts
Pour out Your Spirit
Fill us anew
Let Your rain come

Kiss Your bride, Oh Lord
Kiss Your bride, Oh Lord
Kiss Your bride, Your beloved

Send Your rain, oh Lord
Send Your rain, oh Lord
Send Your rain
Bring Your Kingdom

Here are some of God's promises about rain...

Leviticus 26:4
I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit.

Deuteronomy 32:2
Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants.

Psalm 72:5-7

May He endure as long as the sun,
as long as the moon, through all generations.
May he be like rain falling on a mown field,
like showers watering the earth.
Hosea 6:3
"Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, He will appear; He will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.”
